“Stuff the Bus” at Lockaway Storage: San Antonio Neighbors Support Local School District
On Friday, July 19, 2025, Lockaway Storage - 1604 and its office tenants teamed up to bring the community together for a fantastic "Stuff the Bus" Community Kickoff, collecting school supplies for local students and teachers. The initiative, spearheaded by Hankinson Agency-Farmers Insurance, successfully raised approximately $1,000 from partners and sponsors, along with a bus full of much-needed school supplies.
The manager of Lockaway Storage - 1604 shared, “As the property manager here at Lockaway Storage – 1604, one of the greatest joys of the job is the overwhelming sense of community and connectedness among our nearly 800 tenants—better known as ‘Lockaway Family Members’. What started as a casual chat in early June became our first annual Community Kickoff on July 19th. Watching tenants pitch in, host pop-up booths, and turn the day into a festival of food, music, and networking was incredible. When the dust settled, we’d packed a bus and raised $1,000 in school supplies for our local school district. Way to go, Team Lockaway!”
From 12 PM to 5 PM, we all got to enjoy an afternoon of networking, delicious food, lively music, and even a dunk tank, adding a splash of fun to the charitable efforts. We also had UTSA football player, Houston Thomas, there to support the cause. “We truly value gatherings like this because they create the perfect setting for networking, sharing resources, and channeling hundreds of dollars toward worthy local causes. All school supplies collected during the event were donated to the Northside Independent School District (NISD), providing necessary resources for students and teachers as they head back to school. This Community Kickoff represents the strong community spirit that Lockaway Storage, its tenants, and local partners' commitment to education.
