Lockaway Storage Bandera: First Responder Appreciation Event
When something catastrophic happens there is little time to contain and minimize the potential damage. That’s why we rely on first responders to swoop in at a moment’s notice to help in these situations. Their actions often result in saving lives, and sometimes in their effort to do so they ultimately sacrifice their own. Not knowing what situation may present itself on any given day, brave men and women put their lives on the line in many different ways so that their communities can grow and prosper.
For these reasons and many more, Lockaway Storage on Bandera Road will be having a First Responder Appreciation Event, 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. July 3rd.

- Paramedics
- Emergency Medical Technicians
- Police Officers
- Firefighters
- Lifeguards
- Ski Patrollers
- Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Members
- Utility Workers
- SCUBA Divers
- Search and Rescue Personnel
Facility Manager Jordan Ames and Assistant Manager Sandy Heredia were brainstorming ways that they could give back to their community. They then realized that the best way to do so would be to have an event for those who put their lives on the line every day for the community.
“A firetruck or ambulance is always going by my store,” Jordan said. “The way I see it, those people get very little appreciation.”
There are only a few known full-time first responders that rent at their facility, but Jordan says there are plenty of volunteers. “We have several vets here at the store that volunteer for police and fire after they have retired,” he said.
The event will provide food and drink for any first responders in Leon Valley, Texas. If you are a customer at the facility you’re invited too! Don’t hesitate to come eat and mingle with Lean Valley’s best. Jordan said that he and Sandy will both be there, so that one of them can be serving food while the other manages the front desk.
We hope anyone who is a first responder in the area will be able to make it! The nature of a first responder’s job is fairly unpredictable, so we understand if you are unable to attend. But know that your service means the world not only to the team at Bandera, but also to Lockaway Storage as a company!
