Lockaway Storage and Texarkana Community Team Up to Support Haven Homes
Throughout the month of September, Lockaway Storage joined forces with Haven Homes for Women, a women’s transitional center, to collect essential household items for women rebuilding their lives. The response from the Texarkana community was nothing short of inspiring—donations poured in, filling storage units with much-needed supplies and hope.
Five Lockaway Storage locations across Texarkana served as drop-off points, all working toward one shared goal: to fill a 5x10 storage unit with household essentials for Haven Homes’ residents. The donations directly benefit women transitioning out of the Bowie County Women’s Center, helping them take the next step toward independence and stability.
Haven Homes provides a safe, supportive environment for women to heal and grow through a 12-to-18-month transitional program offered completely free of charge. Residents receive help securing employment, managing finances, restoring family connections, and maintaining sobriety as they build a foundation for long-term success. With an impressive 87% success rate and more than 200 women served, Haven Homes continues to be a powerful force for change in the community.
Excitingly, their new center opening will be opening in Fall of 2025, which will accommodate up to 30 women. Thanks to the community’s generosity during this donation drive, the new facility is better equipped to provide a warm, fully furnished space for women working toward a brighter future.
