CrossFit Event at Tall Pines Storage - 1488
You may think of self-storage as somewhere you just leave your belongings and come back when you need them, but at Tall Pines Storage - 1488 we’re so much more than just self-storage, we’re a facility that likes to get involved with our community. Just down the street from us is CrossFit Magnolia, a CrossFit gym where they educate and inspire families to live enriched and fulfilled lives through fitness. On October 8th, 2022 they had their 10th Annual Unsanctioned Games.
CrossFit Magnolia has this CrossFit event once a year where fitness enthusiasts register and compete against each other doing different exercise movements. If you decided to register in this year's competition your fee would have gotten you a competition t-shirt, a swag-bag from vendors, a ton of memories and maybe some sore muscles. Whether you consider yourself a beginner or an elite athlete you're welcome to compete in this annual event. Before the competition started, CrossFit Magnolia posted the possible movements on their Facebook page to help the athletes know the possible WODs that would possibly be in the competition. For those of us who may not workout everyday, WOD stands for Workout of the Day.
The team members of Tall Pines Storage - 1488 did not participate in this year's Unsanctioned Games, but they did open up their parking lot up to the competitors for additional parking and enjoyed supporting their local community. This is the 2nd year that Tall Pines Storage was able to be involved in this event and we can’t wait to be a part of it for their 11th annual Unsanctioned Games. Maybe you’ll see a couple team members in the competition next year? Keep an eye out for them!
About 120 people attended the event and there were more than just sweaty athletes, there were plenty of great vendors who came to support the competition. One of the sponsors, Ascent Protein was there to support and give out samples. Some other vendors who joined in to support and cheer on the competitors were Intra V, Podium, Eatology, Hyrox, FitAid, and Fleet Fleet Houston.
