Pleasant Grove Hawks Football Team Strengthens Our Community

At Lockaway Storage we believe strongly in our company values including “strengthen(ing) our community” and “treating others the way they want to be treated.” On the afternoon of May 25th, 2023, the Pleasant Grove High School Football Team also showed they share these same values by helping one of their teammate’s family. This heartwarming gesture demonstrated their community spirit, strength, and compassion. On Thursday, our manager at Lockaway Storage - Nash noticed several cars drive into the facility and a team of 20-30 dedicated athletes from the Pleasant Grove High School Varsity Football Team (The Hawks) ready to unload a big moving truck. In just under 30 minutes, they had unloaded everything from that truck into the storage unit for one of their teammates' relatives.

It turns out that a tenant at the facility had rented a storage unit for her sister, who is going through a difficult situation. She wasn’t able to unload the large moving truck of her sister’s items herself, so she mentioned it to her grandson, who happens to be the quarterback of the football team at Pleasant Grove High School. Recognizing the opportunity to support his grandmother and great aunt, he approached his coach, sharing the situation and seeking assistance. The football coaches at the high school responded with unwavering support and said that the whole team would be happy to help! When the team arrived at the self storage facility, brimming with determination and camaraderie, they were ready to tackle the task at hand.

Witnessing the younger generation come together to aid someone in need is inspiring and instills confidence in the community. When Lockaway Storage - Nash learned the touching backstory behind this incredible display of teamwork, they were so proud of their local football team and wanted to share this uplifting story and spread the good news.
